In Airbnb’s first-ever festive ad, Santa faces off against the challenges of modernity in a hotel, where keycards, lifts, and revolving doors stand in his way. But, as the rhyming voiceover exasperates, “If only the hotel had a proper chimney…”

The obstacles Santa encounters in the hotel are, indeed, surprisingly practical. After all, who wants a stranger stumbling into their room in the dead of night? The message is clear: a hotel is no substitute for a home, especially at Christmastime.

A Collaborative Effort: Airbnb’s Creative Team and Buck Studios
